Board of Trustees Elections Update
Nominations closed at noon today. Thank you to the 7 people who put their names forward. We will now be now continuing the election process with further information to be distributed to you early next week.
Samoan Language Week
Our Samoan children are invited to wear their traditional Samoan clothing (pulatasi and ie faitaga – the formal lavalava for boys) on Monday as part of celebrating Samoan Language Week. Students from Learning Community Moana will be sharing special traditions from the samoan culture at school Assembly on Monday 29th June 9:00am in the school hall (Taamaua). A great way to celebrate our uniqueness and sense of identity!
School Assembly Times
Our school family will be gathering for Assembly times each Monday 9:00am in the school hall (Taamaua). Each Learning Community will have responsibility for leading us in prayer, liturgy, sharing of learning, achievements, school news and information. Learning Community Whenua will be leading Assembly this coming Monday 29th June 9:00am.
Part-Time Caretaker’s Position
We are seeking a part-time Caretaker for 10 hours per week – a Fixed Term position until the end of the year. The person would be responsible for minor care-taking work, mowing of lawns and general grounds tidiness and maintenance. The position would commence as soon as possible. Working Bee
To ensure our school is looking spic and span for the Official Opening, we will be holding a Working Bee on Monday 5th June from 3:00pm. We would love you to come along for an hour or so to help with cleaning of windows, verandahs, stairs and sweeping up of leaves and general tidiness. Please bring along any suitable equipment you may have to help us do a good job. A great way to build community – thank you!
Congratulations to our Mums
A big congratulations to our Mums who have recently achieved success in the sporting and academic arenas. These are wonderful achievements and display our school value of Excellence – Hiranga. We are very proud of you!
Vavae Nuia – won a silver and 2 bronze medals in the World Masters Games
Jo Petrie – won a bronze medal at the World Masters Games
Cheryl Schuster – graduated with a Bachelor of Education Degree from Auckland University
Herina Sului – graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and in Sociology from Auckland University
