Dear Parents and Caregivers
Congratulations on a wonderful first week at Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School! We have been thrilled with the commencement of our new school year and are grateful for our families presence and participation at both the Blessing Liturgy with Bishop Pat on Monday and at the Candle Ceremony on Tuesday morning. Both occasions were a very special and significant way to celebrate who we are as a new faith community in Takanini.
In Bishop Pat’s words as he blessed our buildings … “May our school be a place of great discovery, adventure and creativity. May it be a place where Christ is at the centre of the Holy Trinity family – a place where we love to learn and live to serve.”
Thank you for the way you have helped the children prepare for their school year. They look very smart in their uniforms and most children now have the required school stationery. We are enjoying working with them as the explore and learn in their new learning environment and make new friendships.
A Celebration of WHO WE ARE!
Director of Religious Studies
On Tuesday each of the Learning Communities received a special candle with the school crest on it for their learning areas. The school candle reminds us to be Christ’s Light to all whom we meet. It also reminds us of the special relationship between the Holy Trinity – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Trinity is our model for aroha/love. This week we have celebrated being God’s light in the way we are learning, loving and serving together with and for each other as we light the way for a new dawn and exciting new beginnings.

Vistab
If children are late to school or need to leave/return during the day for an appointment, please come through to the Reception Area to sign in/out using the Vistab electronic system before entering the Learning Communities. The screen is easy to use and is set up on the front desk. This is a Health and Safety measure that allows us to know where children are at all times.
Reminders
Some designated parking spaces are now available if you wish to remain at school for a time. Please only park in the designated, marked carparks. The Bus Bay may be used for pick up and drop off but do take care with pedestrians and moving vehicles in close proximity. We hope to have more information and action in regards to the likely possibility of establishing a Walking School Bus in the next few weeks.
With hot summer days upon us, we are encouraging the children to bring their own water bottles to school so that they can hydrate during their school day. School sunhats must be worn whilst outside and also worn home at the end of the day as part of the school uniform.
We are encouraging the children to bring home their litter from morning tea and lunches. This supports the school with recycling and also informs you of foods eaten or untouched!
Newsletters
School newsletters will be distributed fortnightly commencing from this Friday 9th February. Please note Learning Community Whenua and Awa are also sending home hard copy newsletters for their respective teams today – please do check in schoolbags to see it has arrived home safely. Once we are underway with our internal student management system all communications will be able to be received electronically through a LINC-ED parent portal.
